First name last name is not issue, should not be an issue because I always use first and last name as per my landing papers issued to me by the Canadian Embassy (or High Commission in Islamabad in 1993), IDs issued by the Ontario Govt and Citizenship, Social Insurance etc. Name Never changes. So why the Insurance company wants to make it different by saying Mister with my first name. They should be honest, abd respect Canadian system, where the policy was issued. Insurance company should be the one telling the clients not to change the name. Instead of benefitting from the ambiguity.
All my life since birth “KhalidMahmood ” has been my name, I am not sure why some people try to change it by saying mister with the first name. Was it Canadian Govt. Policy to encourage such people to get away with such frauds techniques to change the client name on the Policy, which can create legal complications. Regardless of name they should look at the ID numbers they use to provide services. It makes me wonder why it was so difficult for some people to understand this matter, when people/clients have IDs they should believe IDs not other people’s thoughts or what they heard from their moms, or relatives etc. IDs have a purpose, if not why use IDs. ?? Why worry about legal status to get IDs.
It was very disappointing and eye opening that insurance companies do not payout in emergencies when it was needed, they take money regularly without questioning name etc. They ask clients to fulfill all legal requirements and check everything thoroughly before selling a policy but when it comes to payout for emergiencies they do not fulfill their obligations. Because there was no one to represent me in dealing with such companies.
