August 01 of 2024: past midnight I went outdoors, used my monthly pass on OC Transpo route 46 to determine if there were any issues with it. At the end of July bought a presto card from a shoppers drug Mart at Bank Street and loaded a monthly pass at a shoppers drug Mart at Montreal Rd, card shows a expiry date of 2023, according to Presto company fare cards do not expire and it was actually manufacturing or perhaps issuing date when the cards were sold to the retail outlets. I documented this matters many years ago as well when I lived in Hamilton. Transit pass expiry, fare expiry and Presto fare card expiry dates are different expiry dates. Public Transit users who use a monthly pass pay lump sump amount for the entire month at the beginning of the month, which results in zero dollar payment for each ride. Zero dollar payment can not be interpreted as not paying fare, because of the upfront advance payment for the entire month.
On July 31 visited Liberty tax at Montreal Rd, to discuss few issues regarding missing and wrong information in my tax files. Also received a call from BDO Dunwoody (while I was passing through the St. Laurent Mall) BDO Dunwoody was my first tax filing firm in Ottawa in 1996. BDO at Moodie drive rebranded to Collins Barrow and later on to something else. I still have some documents from 1995 related to CRA and Unemployment records etc which I submitted to Liberty tax.
August 01 of 2024: stepped out of my apt 307 around 08h30, came back around 10h00, found a letter from OCH regarding my request to review. I was required to resubmit it. I have sent an email to OCH to review the decision. I will further look into this matter on August 02 of 2024. I want to remain in my apartment for the remainder of the day of August 01. To avoid a knock on my door in my absence, which may result in wrong interpretations.
around 10h00, As soon as I entered my floor to get to my apartment 307 from ‘B’ side of the stairs, a woman was seen walking ahead of me in the corridor as if she was reading something, she turned around her head to look at me as I was approaching my apartment #307.
August 01 of 2024: OCH is informing me of a drastic change/increase of my monthly rent payment. I appealed the decision and want community legal clinic to mediate with OCH in this rent increase amount. Rent increase should be within certain percentage of the previous amount. OCH should be fair to the rent paying tenants. I accepted this apartment in old building because this was offered to me by the Housing worker of the Ottawa mission and my Social worker Brook Lynn Davies at a certain amount of monthly payments. Therefore increase in monthly rent payment amount should be in acceptable range.
This is unfair and not acceptable to show amount owing in rent file, like CRA was showing carbon tax amount owing, which I have paid. I need legal protection and moral support of tenants council from such drastic financial actions, because I have NO business or employment income yet.
I have made an extra payment at BMO across the building to make a total payment of the rent amount that OCH calculated, I disagree with the calculations, but to avoid complications around the long week end I have paid according to their demands. This apartment was offered to me at a certain monthly rent by the housing workers in 2023.
All such efforts are to deplete me of my limited resources, For what reason and why ?. Unauthorized transactions by a merchant in May of 2024 on my bank account not yet reversed/not yet refunded to my account, that also resulted in depleting me of my money at the end of month of May 2024.
When I checked the OCH website, rent payment was seen applied and instead of owing it was showing positive balance, same was in 2023.
August 02 of 2025: remaind indoors most the times, to avoid any possible knocks on the door in my absence.
August 03 of 2024: Went to Heron gate area to eat breakfast, went to LaFontaine area Freshco for some quick groceries. When I arrived back at the building 1909 Russell Rd. around 09h15, two uniformed Security guys were seen entering the building through the front door. There were many people waiting around the front door. I used B side entrance door to enter the building. Around the same time a security vehicle with two uniforms left from the back side of the building. I decided to check out what was happening in the lobby, I saw some people entering the lobby through the front door with heavy furniture, perhaps moving in the building. Elevator #2 was still on service around 13h15 when I came back to my apartment after a short trip from outside.
August 03 of 2024: A loud thunder ( recurring) was heard around 19h45, no rain yet. Followed by some lightening. Rain started around 20h00.
August 04 of 2024: tonight twice washroom running water sounds were heard around 01h00 and 01h35, never heard before during the past one year. Perhaps there was a new tenant in my vicinity or above my apartment.A
August 04 of 2024: around noon time, some activity was seen in apartment 309, a man was seen pushing something the door, a panel looked like a door of something was seen resting the wall etc. An oldan was seen exiting through the front door as I was entering, he whispered something like you are good etc.
August 05 of 2024: Visited one of my past neighbourhoods, 99 fifth Ave, I used to get my letters at MBE at this address in 2006 and also once my bags were shipped to this address from USA. There was a restaurant at the corner of 99 fifth Ave and Bank St, where I used to go to eat wings or a drink, at some point the restaurant got closed and also the MBE was closed.
August 06 of 2024: I am still in Ottawa,on my way to see a lawyer to discuss and seek legal resolution to some important matters
Buses were missing schedule this morning around Westboro area, on the side of the road where I was waiting. Was it sone kind of synchronization to delay the buses to bring some people out or something else. I wish I was back in my own car as before to be mobile and not depend on transit.
Several police vehicles were seen around the buildings when I arrived at 1909 Russell Rd around 15h00, one vehicle was black color unmarked. Some construction work and cones were seen at the traffic light at Smyth and Russell.
August 06 of 2024: I was referred to housing help business in ottawa, but since I have paid my rent for the current month at my current ID address, I decided not to visit their office because I need a mediator at this time to discuss the >5x rent increase matter with OCH instead of filing the matter with LTB. I have a SOT with LTB from the past which can be transferred to Ottawa, perhaps. I am not looking for another apartment to move to. Rent increase should be within allowable limits, more than five times of 2023 lease amount was not acceptable. Also visited ncf and saw ncf staff shelly in person.
August 07 of 2024: This morning I called revenue Canada to give them information about my residence address in 2013, this address was available on T5007 of 2013.
August 07 of 2024: two men were seen working on the lobby entrance glass door on the inside around 11h30 perhaps fixing the handicap push button or something else. Another one man was seen working with tools on the same door around 16h05, few women were seen in the lobby around the elevators, one woman was seen in the gardening/garden area. A big black truck was seen sparked in front of the building facing the garden area.
August 08, one person paused at by my seat where I was sitting before proceeding to the back of the bus with another person in vehicle number 4651 route number 40 around 10h20 to st. Laurent mall. Perhaps to show false association and negative interpretation because I don’t know them but some how they know me. They boarded the bus from the stop across from McDonald’s.
August 08 of 2024: attended a brief meeting with my tax representative Liberty Tax located at 253 Montreal Rd in Ottawa (Vanier) around 11h30.
August 08 of 2024: Fare Tap machine was standby on this OC Transpo vehicle # 6612 route 7 around 13h00.
August 08 of 2024: how many different ways were there to load an OC Transpo ‘s seniors pass on the presto card. This after noon I passed by the Rideau centre OC Transpo retail outlet customer service to get my pass checked/authenticated, the person was not able to understand what wanted him to do. I explained to him that I purchased my senior pass from a shoppers drug mart outlet. But when I used on the bus it had some glitches, I wanted to make sure that it was a legitimate pass loaded on my presto card. I wonder how many other methods were there to load a pass. Around 18h30 I called Ottawa 311 to talk to OC Transpo about it. But when my call was transferred by the switch board to OC transpo it got disconnected, now I will pursue this matter in few days to find out what was the best and reliable method to load pass on presto.
August 08 of 2024: after discussing the matter about the 2013 tax return with Liberty tax, submitted the same to the area MP with my suggestion that the records of the returns from the past should retain and show the address where it was filed, that previous address can be found on tax slip of that year. Also received a letter from service Canada about OAS for the flooding year 2024/2025.
August 08 of 2024: Hammering and objects dropping sounds were heard somewhere above or in the vicinity of my apartment 307 in this building 1909 Russell Rd., around 19h50.A
August 09 of 2024: a rainy start of the day in Ottawa Ontario Canada K1G 3P2, was rainy most of the day, I went out for a walk in rain to find out about hearing aids.
August 09 of 2024: I received a call today from ncf, this was after I visited ncf office on the day after col. By day on August 06, and saw ncf staff Shelly in person for a brief meeting, there was no ticket issues at that time, today a volunteer called around 14h55 and mentioned about a ticket, renewal etc. there was no trouble, ncf (national capital freenet) membership was and is free of any fees, members are required to make donations instead of fees, but not making donation does not cancel membership. I use only email services of ncf since 2006, I do not use the DSL or any other equipment from ncf. ncf was located in the same building where Community Legal Clinic was located. I visited community legal clinic as well on the same day when I visited the ncf on the upper floor.
August 10 of 2024: around 20h20 heavy rain started with wind. Windy and rainy. Lights were seen fluctuating during the rain first ever in this apartment since I live here i.e. August 2023.
August 11 of 2024: today I called roku contents provider to find out if there was any subscription under my name. I bought a Philips Roku set from a Walmart nearby about 10 months ago. Since I am not using any contents provided by Roku or another contents provider, there was no subscription information. I just use Digital antenna with it.
August 12 of 2024: this afternoon I went to Catherine St. to find the housing registry to find out if there were any issues. Apartment 307 was offered to me at a certain price in 2023 after Ottawa mission housing workers processed my registry. I need to know what was the reason to increase my monthly rent payments to more than 5x. This much increase was not acceptable. There was a rent ref /account issued to me on the lease documents, which can not be used by no one else.
August 12 of 2024: Today I visited the Scotia Bank branch at Campus, but branch was completely inaccessible due to fences and barricades due to construction work.
August 12 of 2024: Today I learned something new which I never learned before that amount owing can be positive or negative. When I was reading my rent account with OCH on the internet it was showing amount owing with a positive sign, meaning it was a credit (or surplus, unused amount of money) in my account. But if the amount owing was negative, will mean debt to be paid. This may not be a standard accounting practice, perhaps just the software department of OCH decided to program the system like this. One method to show amount owing or deficit in account is to put parenthesis around the numbers like (9999) etc. surplus in account is not amount owing, absolutely not and should not be labelled as owing.
Such flawed information or wording in a tenants account can be misinterpreted by people and they can start taking wrong action without due process on such flawed information. Even high school kids know these differences, so obviously this was done deliberately by the programmers of a reputable and well known housing company OCH. There was a simple solution to fix it. My understanding after thinking about it was that this is what OCH owes to the tenants, shown in the total owing field, which remains to be applied towards rent.
This “total owing” was similar to “created overpayment”. Tenants usually do not owe rent so why expect this total owing. What that means was that at some point in time their rent changes, payments go up and they owe money without knowing etc. so in my mind it was like created “total owing”.
August 13 of 2024: a man was seen sitting in the buffer zone on the bench around 07h00 talking on the phone in a non- English, non-french language. One woman was seen coming out of the elevator number 2 and woman was seen going up in the elevator, few more people were seen in the lobby after the above, while I was keying-in this posting.
August 13 of 2024:a Scotia Bank branch at Bank st Glebe area asked me to sign a document electronically by sending it to my email. I hope they don’t use it for anything else. I asked for printed documented, I was told that is how they do it. this was to replace my previously used debit card.
Came out of my apartment around 14h50, walked, decided to access the elevators through the second floor, but was very slow, so I took A side stairs, walked to Elmvale for OC transit route 40.
August 14 of 2024: my undesirable experience with A&W fast food Merivale location order#21616.
When I asked the cashier to get the clarification for this discrepancy, she offered to refund me, which I declined to avoid any further unpleasant situation, because they mostly come across some unknown hurdle and fail to complete the transaction, delays etc.
August 15 of 2024: received a message from my contact at ncf regarding renewal of my membership which is donation based. I will send my donation in about two weeks.
August 15 of 2024: two girls handed me the following flyer as I was heading out of my apartment around 13h50, they were seen standing close to apartment 301 and turned around and came towards me as I was securing my apartment before heading out of the building.
August 15 of 2024: People were seen working on the call box/intercom at the entrance of 1909 Russell Rd. around 14h00 when I went outdoors. There was another man checking the side doors, sone people were seen in AIP office on floor 1 lobby level. A dog was heard barking near apartment 103 around side B of the building. I hope they were not modifying the system, I know my code for my apartment as was issued written to me on my lease in 2023, can not be changed. I was housed here in this building by the housing workers and housing registry in 2023.
August 15 of 2024: two men knocked on my door around 14h25 and told me to pull my door mat inside because according to them it was a fire hazard. During the past one year no one mentioned anything about it, there was no objection before. The door mat was bought from Walmart at Ottawa Trainyards and was made of rubber which does not burn so easily (plastic and rubber have different properties towards fire).
August 15 of 2024: hammering like knocks were heard somewhere in the vicinity of my apartment around 19h20, sounds continued untill 20h24.
August 16 of 2024: went to 100 Queen Street (WEP) Microsoft office in the after noon, on the way back made stop in Heron Rd area, upon arrival back at the building vehicle was seen arriving at stopping I front of the building, after I entered the building the driver of the vehicle off loaded some boxes and placed them in front of the glass entrance door, boxes and shipment contents was not for me.
August 16 of 2024: some fire trucks activity was seen and heard on Russell Rd around 21h30. Fire truck with sirens and a SUV with flashing lights were seen rushing towards industrial Ave. after entering the Russell Rd from Smyth Rd.
August 17 of 2024: knocking/hammering sounds were heard around 13h10.
August 17 of 2024: started raining cats and dogs heavily around 17h00, I suppose perhaps may or may not be good for Greek festival in Ottawa.
August 18 of 2024: A Prescott Russell ambulance was seen waiting outside McDonald’s at st.laurent perhaps to pick up food around 13h10.
August 19 of 2024: a SUV vehicle with border services markings was seen entering the BMO bank parking lot across from the building 1909 Russell Rd between 11h15 and 11h30.
August 19 of 2024: visited the Scotiabank branch in one of my previous neighbourhoods to get a printed statement, but the bank teller was not able to generate a pdf print. She printed the screen dump. Difference between the two is that pdf format prints the statement by the first name where as screen dump of transactions is printed by the last name but without comma after the last name. I hope this was not done deliberately and not with malicious intents. I clarified to the bank staff that this account was not a joint account, it was my personal account. Also that since I am unmarried this is my own account, I was never using anyone else’s account. This was the second round of such clarifications since this account was opened at Carleton university branch about a year ago at the end of September 2023. This same matter was documented earlier as well. Bank account are access by the account numbers not by the names, also my account setup is linked to my social insurance number.
August 20 of 2024: this morning got my scotiabank statement in pdf format for the period mid July to mid August 2024.
August 20 of 2024: a couple with big light brown dog was seen leaving through the front set of doors around 08h30. And an OC Transpo para Transit bus was seen waiting in front of the front door around same time. A man with a walking equipment was seen coming out of the paratransit and headed towards the entrance door with a female assistant with him.
August 20 of 2024: Two route 46 buses towards Billings bridge at Elmvale station consecutively after each other but no Hurdman bound 08h54 at stop 8810.
August 20 of 2024: I just returned to the building after a walk around the Elmvale shopping area. Route 46 bus Hurdman bound missed 08h54 schedule at stop 8810. A man with facial mask was seen sweeping/ cleaning the floor in lobby, few minutes after I entered the lobby from outdoors.
August 20 of 2024: a McDonald’s delivery was seen around 09h15, delivery man entered the buffer zone and lobby when a man exited through the front doors, a woman wearing a picture ID probably from her employers was seen leaving the building after the McDonald’s delivery man left the lobby. This all happened as I was waiting for the bus route 46 toward Hurdman.
August 20 of 2024: visited the apple tree medical centre to find the where about of Dr. Emad Habib my family physician, by the clinic was very busy so did not wait for too long, next stop was the Glebe community centre for lunch but it was early so decided to go to a restaurant.
August 20 of 2024: a blank message was found recorded in 6134139812 voice message box which I got to around 14h45 after phone battery was filled up.
August 20 of 2024: loud shouting and yelling was heard in the voice of a woman around 14h40 at the entrance door, a woman was seen moving several bags in the space between the trees/bushes towards B side of the buildings.
August 20 of 2024: Suddenly rain started on a sunny afternoon in Ottawa around 16h23 without clouding just for a minute or two. Route 46 missed a scheduled trip at Hurdman, long wait for the next Bus, arrived back to my apartment around 18h00.
August 20 of 2024: received a form by email from area MP in response to my matter with CRA, late in the evening in my inbox, I need to get it printed before completing and signing it. Called Staples was closed, so now I will take care of it on August 21.
August 21 of 2024: printed the document at Staples in down town around 09h00, came across two dogs today, one at the Staples stores in side and one guide dog on the bus route 46 (4757) around 10h20, completed the MPs offices requirement by submitting it by email and at the cra drop box.
August 21 of 2024: around 17h18, At Lees station clock was incrementing but the arrival/departure times were seen frozen for over three minutes (normally as the clock increments, other times for the various routes decrease). Bus route Arrived at 17h36.
August 22 of 2024: I received a yearly statement from OCH in my letter box.
August 22 of 2024: 18h13 route 46 at stop 7154 missed a schedule, did not arrived at 18h24 vehicle 4812. Many People were seen sitting or perhaps playing in the lounge around 18h00 when I opened the door. After I came back from misc shopping a woman was seen coming from B side of the stairs out of one the apartment as I was entering my apartment perhaps around 19h30.
August 24 of 2024: During the past week it was noticed several times that OC Transpo buses missed posted schedule and some times next scheduled bus as well before a bus arrives at the stop.
August 24 of 2024: stepped out of my apartment after lunch between 12h00 and 13h00 to visit my family doctor, visited Best buy store in Kanata, stopped in few places on the way back, OC Transpo buses were irregular today so I walked from neighbourhood St., to Haig, found a bus and finally got back to my building 1909 Russell Rd in Ottawa (NOT in Russell Prescott township, in Ottawa Ontario Canada K1G 3P2) around 20h20, at the door I saw people off loading some furniture from the smaller vehicles, perhaps new move ins or perhaps just getting more furniture. Also walked through Kanata Farmer’s market near Best Buy store.
August 27 of 2024: stepped out of my apartment around 07h00 and went to downtown to O’ Connors area for morning meal buffet and got back to the building just before 10h00. Annunciator panel was heard beeping when I entered the lobby around 10h00, supervisory light was blinking with the beeps, stopped beeping within few minutes as I was documenting the beeps. Perhaps panel got reset by itself, or the reason for beeps became invalid.
August 27 of 2024: visited banks to ensure error free rent payment. When I got back to the building 1909 lobby around 14h00 to go to my apartment, a tall man was seen looking at something in the open box of the fire logs etc mounted on the wall near the canada Post parcel locker across from the elevators in the lobby. He briefly glanced at me passing through the lobby to the B side stairs and got busy with what he was doing. One branch of a bank made an error in October 2023 in my biller account number which delayed the payment by few days, as a result rent money left my account immediately but was not reflected as payment made in my rent payment account with the housing company OCH. Unnecessary leg work and efforts were required to get the error fixed (which was not due to my mistake, rather was a mistake made by the banking staff). I wonder what protection was available/provided to the tenants if such mistakes create a legal problem between housing company and tenants. In my opinion there must be a balance between such mistakes and the protection for the people affected by such mistakes, if not than it will be due to malicious intentions.
Rain started around 20h10 as I was walking through the Elmvale station parking towards the building.
August 28 of 2024: visited one of the previous neighbourhoods Olympics way area, after eating my breakfast went to Carleton University to see the branch of Scotiabank where my account was opened at the end of sept 2023. After that I headed back to my building. One driver of bus route 55 towards Elmvale asked me a strange question when I boarded the bus at main st around 11h20 if I was on his bus earlier. I responded probably and continued to a seat. I don’t remember drivers or buses, I have objection to this behaviour of the bus driver. Was he trying to socialize with me or was he tracking me. Not acceptable.
August 28 of 2024: my rogers internet plan was upgraded which generated a new set of documentation, and came into my inbox with a different account number than the one which was on my previous invoices/bills for the past one year, I was told one account number is internal to the rogers and one account numbers is for customers to pay the bill. In my mind this was some kind of double book keeping for accounting purpose. I just wanted to make sure that there was no mistake in it. I must remind Rogers staff to look at and address customers matters with full name, also address customers by full name to avoid ambiguity. I hope their billing and invoicing was not done by first name and last name, rather it should be done by complete name.
August 30 of 2024: a small cone was seen placed in front of the building.
August 30 of 2024: $5.00 discount on a show repair.
August 30 of 2024: an animal of the size of a big raccoon was seen hovering around the front side of the building 1909 Russell Rd, and went into the bushes along the wall around 06h15 when I stepped out of the building for a walk plus trip to downtown to pick up my repaired pair of shoes.
August 30 of 2024: around 18h15 while I was waiting for a OC Transpo bus route 46 to return to my building a group of three four African resembling kids got off a bus and came very close to me (unusually close) and one kid started doing something on her phone very quickly either texting or trying to scan my phone etc. I stepped away from them to take route 55.
August 30 of 2024: I just heard around 19h30 on CTV Ottawa news about the bank investigators scam. I wonder why the fraud victims were not compensated by CDIC deposit insurance.
August 31 of 2024: falling rain was heard clearly in Ottawa when it started raining at night around 03h15, there was no other sounds around such as traffic. I remember in my childhood some of the houses used to have tin/asbestos sheets as roof and falling rain on tin/asbestos sheets roof used to become loud.
August 31 of 2024: a fire truck was seen at the property around 21h00. Left from the driveway around 21h43.
