TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN/INTEREST
Miles accumulation is meaning less unless it was at a certain count to redeem for a ticket, which takes a long time. I am not that kind of frequent traveler. I travel with a purpose and need.
Complete set of documents from start to finish of a trip has inconsistencies such as name was not identical in all places (and those instances were not known on the spot, like a boarding pass etc.), those were revealed after after some time, it becomes nearly impossible to explain and to get it fixed. Old style travel just with a paid ticket is sufficient for me, no fancy stuff like apps, points cards etc. thank you. QR codes, nfc was ok, I can handle but no apps and problems related to these apps.
I have cancelled/closed Emirates and Etihad Airways membership numbers, not using them, not collecting miles through these programmes and not responsible for wrong information contained in them, it is airlines responsibility to have accurate information in the records, because they are the ones who enter the information in the system, travellers are not responsible for wrong information in the airlines records. Airlines enter wrong information in the records and it becomes nearly impossible and waste of time and efforts to get these mistakes corrected.
In the past before apps and miles programmes only two kind of records existed that I know of, a ticket (which also provided information about payment) and boarding passes, nothing else, no complicated records, nothing to correct, nothing to worry about during or after travel. What was the value added by these logins, apps, miles cards etc. to facilitate a traveler, use of technology is desirable when it does not create hurdles, adds to the accuracy and provides correct and meaning full information. Otherwise it was not.
