TO THE ATTENTION OF RELEVANT AUTHORITIES AND TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN/INTEREST.
Shelter staff (Ottawa mission at 35 Waller St.) does not want to talk to me about the listings they are maintaining for bed assignments by the last names. I showed the staff my Citizenship card which is issued by the Federal Govt and is by the First name. Looks like they (staff of mission shelter in Ottawa) are maintaining double listings by the first names and by the last names for the same person. Question is why ?? So Why Shelters would create this names confusion, perhaps to hide people from law enforcement or who else.
Dinner time is 04h30 to 05h00. I asked the staff what is the last time when people can enter the dinning area, I was told 5’O clock. I asked how much time is given to eat if some one enters at 4h55, staff did not answer and walked away (just by saying gotta go).
Around 16h45 on April 11 of 2023. Can some one answer my this question how much time is allocated to eat after getting the meal on the tray. And why they show listings by the last name. I heard her say it was on a Excel spreadsheet. It is not complicated to make Excel Spreadsheet by the first name. Public Shelters should be transparent in their operation and open to communities and public. In my opinion shelters should not allowed to be evasive of who is in the shelter. Because of shelters evasiveness or name confusions families may not get to their loved ones in difficulty. Shelter is not a place of choice for every one, may be of choice for some but not for all. For me shelter is place for emergency situations. After arrival in Ottawa on April 03, I called city hall at 311 for emergency housing, and 311 staff referred me to the address of 35 Waller St. (Ottawa mission shelter). Given a choice I will never choose a public shelter, I will choose the other option, a home or a hotel.
