ATTN: Presto card/Metrolinx Customer Service – FYI – Related to loading card using Internet.

Please beware that most of the interac/debit cards in Canada have no name embossed on the card for security/privacy reasons. These cards are linked to chequing accounts.

When loading Presto/metrolinx card using internet there are two issues I came across on the website as listed below:

1) When using VISA debit card load option web form prompts for name on the bebit card. Rather it should prompt for account holder’s name because debit cards are linked to a chequing account (pre-paid and credit cards are different). I think this is necessary to avoid any legal complications (or “by mistake” or “did’nt know that” situations) with the authorities etc such as false red light/green light during journey/ride.

2) When using interac debit option to load, web form lists only two financial institutions name, there are many more institutions in the market so list needs to be updated with the currently available choice as of 2020.
